Therapeutic Benefit:
Black tea (Camellia Sinensis) has many health benefits. It is rich in antioxidants, it is known to support cardiovascular health, and has been found to assist with protection against cardiovascular disease and several cancers. The antioxidants in black tea are called polyphenols. Polyphenols have been found to block DNA damage associated with toxic chemicals. Alkylamine antigens are a component of black tea. These improve the function of the immune system and boosts its response to foreign antigens. The tannins in black tea also have a therapeutic effect on the gastric lining and improve digestive activity.
Bergamot (Citrus bergamia) is a small citrus tree which blossoms during the winter. Bergamot gives the beautiful citrus flavour of our Earl Grey. Therapeutically, it has been found to stimulate the production of gastric juices and enzymes. Bergamot is often used for improved digestive capacity, as well as having antimicrobial properties.
At Mayde Tea we use wild-grown bergamot oil to enhance the earl grey flavour. This ensures our earl grey blend is 100% organic, which is considered a rarity for the majority of earl grey teas you’ll find on the market.
Earl grey tea by Mayde Tea is a stunning kitchen staple, along with the traditional English Breakfast tea.
If purchasing the 40-serve tube, its recommended to transfer the tea into an airtight container once it has been opened.
